Filming at Hornsea!

This was my first time shooting at Hornsea beach. Here are some pictures from the day:

This picture of me is supposed to show feeling distressed and something on my mind. Also, the silver long nails looks great for the video!

The weather looked good on the day because it looks like it's going to rain, which creates the mood in my video.The sea was also out which was good to film.

Me holding chains, found the happiness, and is trying to figure everything out. These photos have turned out very well and I am very pleased with them. It has also given me ideas for my digipac and website!

What did I achieve?

29^thOctober: This week I have done my first shots of filming and I am happy with the footage I have got and can’t wait to start editing it and filming more! The shots are of me on the beach, whilst my cousin helped me film it. We did several shots from each angle to make sure I have enough for when I start to edit.

Location Ideas

Stairs scene

In my music video I want long stairs which will look effective when someone walks down them. I was influenced by the images that I found for my ideas, relating to the name of the song diamonds. One my ideas was to make it look quite old fashioned and sophisticated. I was trying to think of places which had long stairs to make it look really effective.

Idea 1:
This is in the back of PJR motor's stairs, which I know someone who works there. The stairs look very plain and straight but long. I could make it look more professional and fit with my music video more by adding lights etc. As you can see, on the right side there is a balcony which I thought was good as i could use it in my video.
good points:
- very long straight stairs
- could look quite sophisticated with the banister
- good for the balcony

bad points:
- maybe too 'dull' looking- lighting
- doesn't look that posh
- can tell it's a working place environment

Hornsea Beach

 In my video, the main mise-en-scene will be at the beach. I think the beach is a place and a time to think and reflect back on memories.

- not too much pebbles
- big

For some parts in my video, I would like to film in the water to link with the sea from the beach.

Ideas for my music video

Diamonds on the lips would be a good idea. I could use stick on jewls which will just simply stick on the lips. Close up shots will also look good for a shot like this!  

 

This has given me an idea for in the lyrics when it says, 'find light in the beautiful sea'. The sun reflecting of the water looks bright and effective. Also, the swan on the water looks peaceful which could link to the lyrics of the song!
